Girlymama says: I need new boots. Are knee-high boots comfort cool? Or should I just getankle boots (which I've been fighting along with most of the 80strends) and feature flats with my skirts? Because you CERTAINLY couldn'twear ankle boots with a skirt.
I say: Knee-high boots are most certainly "still cool". I've been frequenting shoe stores lately and I see knee-high boots everywhere. AND. I've also noticed a lot of jeans tucked into knee-high boots.
Yes the seventies are alive and come up on the fashion scene! Either way worn inside or out knee-high boots can be worn with pants as well as skirts making them more versatile than ankle boots.
And I have a related challenge. UGGs. They've been around for a while but I still see them everywhere. Are theygonna be around for a while longer or are they on their way out? They just look so cozy and warm.
Or perhaps I should believe the newer and more flattering turn of the flat slouchy boot.
I don't own any boots. I don't feature boots and I'm not in the market to buy boots but I just had to be first poster of the day!!! But for those looking for boots you gave them a "kick" beat of information.
I like my knee boots pregnant state and all! Not crazy about uggs or flat boots.. but I'm short and feel they are unflattering for my height. They may work great on you!
Really not crazy about jeans or pants tucked into boots at all either. Except my daughter does it when she rides her cater but that does cut down on the dirt calculate on her jeans!
I undergo both - some ankle and some knee but the knee boots are more versatile if you ask me!
Tonya - The flat boots aren't my favorite but they be so stylish at the moment. I feel desire I can displace it off b/c I have long legs but I still prefer heels all things being equal.
I desire those flat slouchy boots but they inform me of an old boyfriend and make me laugh a little. (Robin cover?) The Uggs? Ugh. Too much desire slippers for me though I accept they look insanely change and snuggly. I don't see anyone fashionable up here wearing them anymore.
I am a boot junkie... Here's the deal... Uggs are way comfortable and functional they will never go "out of call" they are just so easy the fashionistas may move on from these but you will always see them... Knee high boots are also a fashion fasten (I would go with these btw)... The droop flat boots are the trend here if you can find an affordable unify of these it might be fun!
I'm not really a fan of flat shoes; but. I would go with the slouchy boots - you could wear them with skirts as well as jeans. I'm not a fan of Uggs with skirts - I think that they are a bit frumpy.
I would never wear ankle boots. If you are going to wear boots wear high boots. Otherwise just feature a cute pair of pumps or flats with jeans or slacks.
I'm not into the slouchy kick. And I could never - in a zillion years - see myself tucking my jeans INSIDE my boots. But I think I'm going to spring for the knee high boot. More versitle.
aim has 'uggs' this week on sale for $15. Might be a low-risk way to try out the turn! I will if you will!
yeah but you sorta hafta undergo skinny jeans (which i am actually wanting to buy a pair of...) to be able to properly close in them into the boots otherwise it's desire a reverse muffin top or something lol. (i really have no idea what i am talking about is it terribly obvious? lol)
i am in like with these boots from Aerosoles and analyse the place every day for them to drop lower than the $99 they currently be my sister saw them this weekend and thought they were awful i really do like the hardware but i evaluate i'd be better off with the plain jane kind.
i have calf issues though like the girls here tell me my legs are hot and if they had my legs they'd wear knee-length skirts all the time but knee-high boots have always been tight on my calves i am mustering up the courage to try them on again this year.
maybe when i *cough out* try on that albino change *cough* i'll try on the boots the same day that way it can be a hit to my confidence twice in one day instead of once on two separate days.
i undergo no experience with the Uggs thing other than to say i had blisters on my toes from walking all over creation the other day unprepared and when we stopped into Old Navy i totally almost bought these instead good thing my cheapness (and sister) prevailed.
This will not be popular but I hate UGGS and the slouchy boot. The UGGS just seem ridiculous but maybe that is because I live in TX and there is never a be for something desire that. The slouchy kick just seems to 70s hippie for me. I like a clean tailored look. Tall boots move back and forth. They make any furnish instantly sexy. Buy some tall boots and wear them often. I recommned the Michelle D brand available at Dillard's. They are comfortable and cute.
To the commentor looking at Aerosoles--I had some Aerosoles boots for several years and while the angle was more of a form stacked heel they were very comfortable. My aunts bought them for me for graduation so it is easy to say they are worth the money but they really are! They are super comfortable and durable in my experience. And if you buy the plain ones you will get several seasons out of them.
I am actually looking to get myself some knee-high boots. But not just any boot: I be a boot to act my legs warm and to keep the snow out. I want fashion but I also need alleviate and warmth. You can bet that I'm going to be tucking my change pants into my boots on my way to bring home the bacon!
The slouchy boot is awfully reminiscent of the mid-80's. I'm not sure I can digest it. I've seen cuter ones than those not as high for one thing. I do have skinny jeans or at least slim straight jeans that I think I can efficiently tuck into boots. However. Christmas party dress shopping is currently usurping my boot budget. So I might have to continue wearing my ballet flats with my shorter straight jeans when I be to be comfy and my high heeled ankle boots with my longer bootcut jeans when I be to be warm.
Also. I evaluate I've replied to just about each mention via telecommunicate but I have to express for the record that I think a high heeled knee-high "non-slouchy" leather kick is timeless and classic and oh-so-sexy and that's totally what Girlymama should be looking for.
